CS 400

Advising

The advising process is designed to get you ready to register for your next semester's courses. Note, however, that the process only prepares you; it is your responsibility to register yourself via Webcat once your assigned registration window opens.

In future semesters, you will likely work directly with your assigned academic advisor to complete that semester's advising process. However, since most CS 400 students have not been assigned a permanent advisor, the advising process is incorporated into the CS 400 course for most of those students who are enrolled in it.

If you should be working directly with your previously assigned advisor instead, you will be notified of that fact via email. In the absence of such an email, assume that you should be following the CS 400 advising process.

The videos below are meant to server a dual purpose. Their primary purpose is to tell you everything you need to know to participate successfully in the CS 400 advising process. However, their secondary purpose is to act as a resource to which you can refer later when working with your permanent advisor in future semesters.

If you wish to access the slides used in the videos, they are available for download.
